Challenge
The vinyl graphics market is dominated by trade-focused businesses with functional, forgettable branding. Our clients needed to stand out. The brand had to feel clean, edgy, and innovative to disrupt the monotony of the industry.
Design Direction
The back room origin story became the brand anchor and visual focus.
I developed a high-contrast color palette paired with modern typography—a deliberate departure from competitor aesthetics. The logo needed to work across multiple applications, from storefront signage to digital platforms, so clarity and versatility were essential. One unconventional choice: square business cards. In an industry where networking happens on job sites and at trade shows, this format became an instant conversation starter and brand differentiator.
Impact
Within three years, Backroom Graphics doubled their staff to meet growing demand. Customers frequently cite the logo and square business card as deciding factors in choosing them over competitors—proof that authentic storytelling drives real business results.
